Born in Japan, Nana Miki started her career as a ballet dancer with several leading roles. After graduating from Osaka University of the Arts (B.A in Performing Arts, 1999), she began teaching and choreographing.
Nana Miki graduated in modern dance under merit scholarship at the Merce Cunningham Studio in New York City, and pursued her ballet training with Christine Wright. Nana Miki has shown her work as a dancer and choreographer at CRS/New Dance Works, FAR space (Chelsea), Fringe Festival, Dumbo Festival, Movement Research at the Judson Church, and at the Joyce SoHo. She is a founding member of Simple Production and one of the original collaborator of Agora II with Noémie Lafrance.
She is currently choreographing her own work merging her meticulous technique with a unique peaceful and delicate energy.
